Default Mid-Summer Brunch Run...

...was this past Sunday. We did what Jerry Foster advised. A few locals went out on the Sacramento River for a quick cruise. As we did this last year, this year’s Mid-Summer Brunch Run was no different. Same start time meeting up at 8:30, same restaurant, Alamar Marina and Restaurant, and back to the launch, 1:30 pm, before the heavy crowds and afternoon summer heat. I think all of us agreed that the food at Alamar was pretty good. Forecast for this day was only low 90s, and that’s nice for Sacramento, a little breeze and nice water conditions. It’s been a while since we were on this river and it was nice to see the water at a high level. There were a lot of anglers out as well, fishing for salmon. Hopefully, I’ll be out there in a few weeks doing the same.

I want to thank Kent, Lydia, and Kent's sister Dawn, Glenn and Lan, and Paul for coming out. Also to Adam for meeting us at Alamar. Anyway, just thought I’d share some pictures of our day with you all.

Default Hanging out at Discovery launch...

...while waiting for all to arrive. Paul was the first one there, and since we had some time, it's always nice to hang out with everyone. It was especially nice catching up with Paul.

Default At Alamar...

...and did I mention how good their food was? Best fries we've had. We asked the waitress about their fries, and she said they use Panko used for Japanese tempura. Yummy.

Default On our way back...

...to Discovery Park, Paul saw another old glass boat near Crawdad's on the River, in the No Wake zone going the opposite way. We introduced our selves. Very nice couple from Lodi, CA in their cool '62 Larson All American and '56 Mark 55. Boat is the same model as my friend John; his is year model '60. Anyway, cool to see an old boat on the water.

Everyone had such a good time, may plan to do this again in September cruising even further north on the Sacramento to StingRayz Beach Boardwalk at Knights Landing. Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

Thanks Jack, it's been three months since some of us got together for a run. It was really nice to go out and cruise with some folks again. With the Lodi couple, we told them to look us up on either on Golden State Glassics or Golden State Glassics on Facebook. Hopefully they'll join.

...Discovery Park in Sacramento, only 5 miles from home. It's the most popular and the safest. It is a very nice, protected launch ramp area with two docks. This is where we launch most of the time.

Come on up and we would be glad to host any GSG members on the Sacramento River.
