Default Dorsett Fans, check this out!

From CL: A 1957 Dorsett Golden El rey in Pacifca. With a running Evinrude fat fifty and a Tee Nee trailer. Have you ever seen a Dorsett with fins? This one has them (FINS )!

Sent the link to George but your a candidate also. I would buy it if I weren't looking to reduce my fleet. This boat is really a great find for someone who wants an authentic "classic package". The Tee Nee trailer and fresh fat 50 really complete the deal. If I keep typing I'll sell myself.

I love the look of this rig. All the period correct vintage goodies right there. But it is the hull that really got my attention. This very early classic Dorsett has the 50's fins which are not on any of the later boats I have ever seen. Also the overall styling sets it apart from the later Raymond Loewy designed versions but you can still see the good bones of the original hull design. I wish I was ready for another boat, sigh.

I have been watching that ad for a little while since rarely are classics so close to me. Eduardo had one that had the fins. I had no idea that there was ever a finned model either until Eduardo told me.

I've passed it along to someone who says they are looking for a classic.

Talked to the owner at great length this morning, a really nice guy who just lost interest. Has a 28' Nordic he is working on and using. The Dorsett is apparently like my Avalon in it's originality and condition, motor runs sweet according to video's he sent and the rest of the boat just needs to be detailed and new interior installed. My family says I don't need it or asked if I was willing to replace something with it and I just can't make up my mind.

It's killing me. Dave you need to buy it just to keep it from killing me.

Jack, I can buy it and we can store it at your place!!! Haha, the reality is I have one old boat that isn't working very well, I don't need two. Is it more rare than some of the other boats you have? Then it may be worth the trade off.

Yes it probably is. The problem is if I buy it I won't follow thru and sell something else. Planning on selling the Red Fish, gave the G3 to Jeff, sold the Seafair Sedan to Erika (& Alex). Now that I think about all the changes maybe I can do this.

That's the price you pay to live in the Bay Area.
