Default Tower Park in October

This is what Judy posted on the GSG site on Facebook

Joel and I have been talking about the annual October Tower Park boating weekend. We looked on the web site for Jellystone and it looks like the weekend of the 20th and 21st of October is the start of their off season. Cabin rates are $138.00 for that weekend versus $204.00 for the previous weekends. We can see if they will offer a group discount. Let us know what you think about this date. If there enough of you interested we can talk to them to see what we can make happen. It's always a great boating and socializing time!!

Please let me know if you are interested. It would be awesome to have another boating weekend at Tower Park!

Tower Park Jellystone October Outing Oct 21-22

Here is the latest Info.
I did not actually make the trip to Tower Park. I called on the phone to see to whom I should meet with to discuss any “special rates” for our group.

I was told in no un-certain terms that Jellystone offers no group discounts whatso ever unless you guarantee a minimum of 50 rentals.

Since our group does not qualify, here are the rates I came up with from their website

Smallest Cabins..$140 night
RV sites..$60
Tent..$55

Same goes for launching/dock fees, no special prices
Their tractor launch..$25
Dock space per night…$35

Now tower Park in my personal Favorite Venue.

However, I really got the impression from the people I spoke to that they couldn’t care less whether we stayed there or not.

The person that I talked to at the marina even suggested that we might get treated better at the Lighthouse Marina facility!

Seems like the employees are not big Jellystone fans

So what do you guys want to do

Stay here? Look at other Venues?

Please let me know your opinions. I have not made any reservations yet,

What ever happened to the place we used to go to across the road from tower park? We used to camp there and launch at Tower Park. And they had overnight docks for the boats. Does it still exist?

Apparently Joel's experience is not uncommon. Personally I have no interest in paying to be treated rudely. I really don't care if they give a $10 discount on slips or $20 on a cabin, its nice to be recognized as a group but we are participating because of all of you in GSG. It's our Old Boat Family that makes the event not the venue.

How about somewhere most of us have never been, maybe up closer to Sac or north of Sac or further W. I don't know but something different is always good for us. When I lead a car club event, We always travel the road least traveled. Some members hate it!

Hey Joel anything knew with regards to Oct. outing? If we can't figure out another place I say we give this Jelly Belly group a chance. If they live up to our anticipation then we don't have to go back, but at least we will have had an outing. Your boat may be experiencing some dry rot much like my own.
