Default GOTWATER GOT some SALT * TODAY *

Betty, Saylor and I launched at South Shores ramp around 10. At the ramp there was only one boat which was Customs / Border Patrol with a mechanic working on it. As we turned into the Ski Beach area there was not another boat to be seen and almost smooth as glass. We enjoyed a couple of nice fast runs stopping by to watch a dredge at work. Most of Mission Bay is only 12 to 14 feet deep and for the next couple months there removing high spots and filling in low spots. We headed out the channel to find a real smooth sea and running about 3 miles out and then headed south pass the Ocean Beach Pier and viewing the two Coronado Islands in the far distance. Headed back West toward Crystal Pier and after dodging kelp and markers for traps, fenders, bumpers and floats. We headed in and viewed the bait barge and then on to Sail Bay site seeing. As we came back to the ramp at 2:30 the mechanic had returned and the motor sounded much better.
What a winter day, 78 degrees on the water, no breeze and we saw four other boats. Covered 26 miles. Back at home washing and flushing I checked the temp only to see 86 degrees.

Yeah, this is certainly unusual (beautiful for boating) weather we are having. Saylor looks like he is enjoying himself. I'm curious, what kind of animal would the Border Patrol put into those small cages on the stern of their boat?

Top of the morning to you Jerry. Those are not small cages. That is the insulation on the inside of the cover for the motor if you look at it real close. I wanted to talk to the guy, but most of the time he was down in the bilge making adjustments. I didn't know that the Customs / Boarder Patrol had a repair facility in the San Diego area.
Sunset Marine in our area almost always has some kind of law enforcement boat or two that they are servicing. And some times I can take a peek at them.

Love that little man Saylor, Sassy's first chew toy! lol What a beautiful day on the water. I long for one weekend day Kirstie is not working to take the boat out, she (the boat) hasn't touched water since last October!

Nice to see the Rollers out and about making the rest of us feel bad. Haven't been out since Oct. but looking forward to trying to make the March trip.

Default Terry, it's nice to see...

...Winslow out on the water. Looked like a really nice and fun day with Betty and Saylor. We couldn't help it either; it's been record breaking weather last week and most of the February here in the Central Valley and coast, so a couple of us went out and took advantage of the mid 70's temps for early February outing.

We may go out this Holiday weekend for a quick lunch run, because supposedly it will be nice again this Saturday.

Default Yesterday and Today

We're in a cold snap in San Diego right now just like your area. The sun has come out and starting to look nice. Suppose to rain (a little) Wednesday and Thursday. Cold snap to end on Friday. We had frost this morning and again tomorrow it is predicted.
