Default Dorsett Catalina Question?

There is a curved raised lip around the top where the windshield mounts on early Catalinas.

I know the 59 had the lip but what year did they quit adding it?
And what year did the cabin move left?

Thanks, Steve

Default It was 1962...

...I believe was when they started with the flat cabin top, no raised lip. '62 Dorsett Catalina also had the brow design over the cabin window.

Steve, the cabin door was moved to the left starting in '61. Now that you have the door frame for the larger door from your '61, maybe you can use that for your new Catalina. You could even build a new door like in the '62 Dorsett Catalina where it serves as a table as well. It's a cool feature.

BTW: Congrats on your new glassic cruiser. The original finish is going to look fantastic.

OK,,, Your questions regarding the cabin made me take a look at mine.
The title says 1959 ,but I'm pretty sure that it must be a 1960 or ?

Default Yours is definitely a '59...

...Larry. One because of the bow trim. That is the only year with that design. You probably have the added storage compartments at the splashwell as well. Lastly, the location of the Dorsett emblem. After '59, they were placed on the side if the cabin.

Larry, you got the right year for Dorsett boats.
